LHBw – last issue of clothing for recruits

As a result of the decision taken by the government in December 2010 to discontinue conscription with effect from 01st July 2011, some 13,500 recruits were called up and issued with clothing and equipment by the LHBw for the last time in January 2011. This last clothing issue was also mastered by the LHBw with flying colors in spite of the adverse weather conditions and, with a missing article quota of 0%, once again confirmed the company’s logistic competence and capability.
In future, the LHBw will provide clothing issues for the men and women recruiting on a voluntary basis for service in the armed forces, the so-called FWDL. In addition the company will provide clothing and other fiscal articles for recruit officers and non-commissioned officers. The service stations will concentrate to a markedly greater extent on the daily business of exchange and refitting and on customer service.
