Outfitting
Every year, the LHBw service stations (SVS) provide as many as 80,000 young people with a basic kit consisting of some 120 different items. Depending on their specified basic kit, they receive their uniform, field and sports clothing, shoes, headwear, underwear and personal items of equipment.
To comply with the high requirements of the Armed Forces in terms of quality and fit, we have standardised the outfitting process in the SVS nationwide. First of all, our skilled staff take the individual measurements of each new recruit. Then the items are selected in the appropriate sizes and the recruit can try them on at the reception points. Finally, the kit is checked to make sure it is complete and a personal clothing account is opened for each new soldier. Each soldier is given an official clothing and equipment card (BAN) for his or her personnel records. To keep this card up to date, it must be presented on every occasion when changes or additions are made to his or her kit.
